We have known KiwiCo for some time.

Their sponsored posts have popped up on my feed a few times and looked very intriguing. I admit that I was quite suspicious about them (as I am regarding many sponsored ads on Facebook), but after seeing them multiple times, the feeling that I had to try them overcame my suspicion.

The company specializes in making science-based project kits.

The packages arrive by mail- one kit per month of subscription.

There are different kits available for different age ranges, and it is possible to subscribe for various time periods.

We purchased a subscription.

Initially, we made one subscription for Gur, for ages 5-8, and a joint subscription for Alona and Yahli for older ages: 9-12 (I tried to save... In retrospect, I recommend one subscription for each child if possible, because each child wanted to experience all the stages of the projects themselves.)

We received fantastic kits, each based on a different scientific principle. We got a bubble lamp, a jumping frog race, a marble maze, a paper robot, a vacuum cleaner, balloon cannons, and many more.

Our children eagerly awaited these monthly packages (and so did I...).

This company truly does a wonderful job; everything is carefully made.

It appears they pay attention to all the smallest details, from the clear and user-friendly instruction sheets to the simplicity of assembly, ease of use, packaging, graphics, and the additional broad-minding booklet that accompanies each kit, containing information related to the topic of the project.

Although the instructions are written in English, each written instruction is accompanied by a simple and clear illustration.

Parental guidance is still needed for the translation of some steps, but the illustrations definitely help with understanding.

Lately, we discovered there are short instructional videos as well.

Now, my seven-year-old is managing to construct a project almost by himself, even without knowing how to read instructions in English.

We fell in love.

We stopped renewing our previous subscription mostly because we ran out of space at home to display the completed projects, and they started piling up and breaking.

However, we continued to think about them, and everybody missed them a lot.

Then, after about a year, Gur asked my parents for a new subscription as a birthday present.

We prepared several new exhibition spaces and joined again.

He doesn't even know, but after his three-month gift subscription was finished, I secretly extended it for another three months because it was hard for me to say goodbye (and also because there was a tempting summer offer...)

Every time someone else gets to spend time with him building a kit, both Assaf and I and my father, who likes this type of activity as well. watching them work together is a great joy.

We had a great quality time building with the older girls as well until at some point they became completely independent and didn't wait for us to free ourselves from our busy schedules, and just went off to assemble the kits on their own.

Another exciting discovery

Recently, we needed the aid of the company's customer service after receiving a notification that a kit we had already received in the past was on its way to us again.

It was very nice to discover that their customer service is also top-notch.

They responded quickly, and the problem was resolved in a pleasant and effective way.

Ho Tegosh! I have to try!

To get started, go to the company's website - kiwico.com,

choose the age range, kit type, subscription length, and you’re ready to go.

We tried the "Tinker Crate" for ages 9-12 and the "Kiwi Crate" for ages 5-9

We haven’t tried the rest, but what we got so far was great.

I noticed they also have free DIY activities both on their Facebook page and on their website that seem to be totally worth checking out.

In short, I highly recommend it.
